Living in Michigan's beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula inspires artisans in many ways. There is the ever-changing Lake Superior for blues and turquoise, the surrounding forests and meadows for greens and browns, pollution-free starry skies for purples and dark blues, beautiful sunsets, sunrises, fall colors and wildflowers for reds, oranges, and yellows, and snowy forests for greys, blacks and whites. All of these colors are captured Lady A's hand-dyed yarns.
Our yarn is dyed in small, limited-edition batches with acid dyes. Usually, these batches are in lots of about 1000 yards, although other quantities can be arranged for special orders. The colors are clear and bright, inspired by the surrounding natural beauty. The fingering-weight yarn is soft and perfect for socks, lacy scarves, or beautiful, fine-gauge sweaters -- especially baby sweaters. Worsted-weight yarns are lovely for color work or for beautiful, one-of-a-kind items.
We have a new Learn to Knit Socks kit now available -- pick a yarn, and we'll send you a skein, our Simple Socks pattern with detailed instructions, and a holiday card with a message you personalize. It makes a great gift for a new knitter on your gift list, or you can knit the socks yourself and give the gift of warm feet to someone special!
